P-02 High-Solids Waterborne Acrylic Block Filler
P-02 is a high-solids acrylic latex block filler for concrete block, cinder block and precast concrete.

Overview
P-02 is a high-solids acrylic latex block filler for concrete block, cinder block and precast concrete. Its job is to force material into the open pores and bug holes of masonry and leave a continuous, pinhole-free surface that a finish coat can be applied over uniformly.
Uses and Benefits
Concrete masonry unit (CMU): standard, lightweight and split-face block. Cinder block and precast concrete. Poured concrete walls with bug holes and surface voids. Under high-performance topcoats (epoxies and urethanes) as well as architectural finishes.
Limitations
Not a waterproofer. Do not use below grade as a hydrostatic barrier or in immersion service. Do not apply over existing coatings: a coating already bridging the voids defeats the fill, and peeling may result. Do not apply to damp, wet or smooth, slick surfaces. Surface pH must be at or below 10. Minimum 28-day substrate cure. Do not apply below 50°F (air, surface and material), and keep at least 5°F above the dew point. High humidity extends dry and recoat times at this film build. PROTECT FROM FREEZING: waterborne, a frozen container is scrap.
Preparation
Surface must be clean, dry and sound. Remove all oil, dust, grease, dirt, loose rust, laitance, efflorescence, salts, form release agents, curing compounds and other foreign matter. Masonry must be dry before coating, with moisture content at or below 15%. New Concrete & Masonry: Minimum 28-day cure. Prepare per SSPC-SP13 / NACE No. 6 or ICRI Guideline No. 310.2R-2013 to CSP 1–3. Remove contaminants by sandblasting, shotblasting, mechanical scarification or suitable chemical means per ASTM D4260. Rinse thoroughly and allow to dry completely. Existing Concrete & Masonry: Prepare as new. Remove oils, grease and chemical contamination with a strong detergent per ASTM D4258. Remove mildew before coating; it is a fungus that will grow through a new coat. Do not apply over smooth, slick surfaces or existing coatings; peeling may result. Any preparation short of total removal of an old coating may shorten the service life of the system. Surface pH: Test the prepared surface. P-02 requires a surface pH of less than 10.
